Maysa Alnattah
(She/Her/Hers)
With over a decade of experience in the field of physiotherapy, Maysa is a highly skilled and dedicated physiotherapist, licensed to practice independently in both Ontario, Canada, and Jordan.
Maysa’s professional journey has taken her across the globe, working with some of the world’s leading humanitarian organizations and healthcare institutions. Her passion lies in helping individuals recover from injuries, improve their physical function, and regain their quality of life.
Maysa holds two master’s degrees in Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation Science, where her research focused on assessing gait biomechanics and fall injury prevention; and; physical function in low back pain patients. Additionally, she has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public Health, and a Certificate in Bridging to Canadian Physical Therapy Practice.
Maysa’s diverse experience includes serving as a physiotherapy delegate for the International Committee of the Red Cross, providing care in war-torn regions like South Sudan and Lebanon. She has also worked with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Jordan, where she treated complex cases related to war conflict injuries. In 2022, she was part of an evaluation team assessing MSF-Belgium (Doctors Without Borders) reconstructive surgical projects in Iraq and Gaza. Maysa has also contributed to academic settings, teaching at McMaster University and Saudi Electronic University.
A published author, Maysa co-wrote a chapter in the book Global Orthopedics: Physical Rehabilitation of Orthopedic Conditions in Austere Environments. She is also actively involved in research, with several papers in progress on topics related to low back pain and physical function assessments.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Maysa is an advocate for lifelong learning and professional development. Most recently, she earned a certificate in Dry Needling from Acupuncture Canada Association. She also recently completed “Resistance Training for Sport Injuries” 1 & 2 which continues her development to upscale her skills to treat sport athletes and active people who want to improve their training and function in general. She also participated in other numerous workshops and training programs, including war trauma management, hand rehabilitation, manual therapy, and pain management.
Outside of work, she is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking every Sunday, Scuba diving, kayaking, outdoor biking, snowshoeing and heavy weightlifting.
